Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026 · Applies to the e-smoothies.co.za website, the Order Online app at e-smoothies.co.za/order, and the E-Smoothies mobile app (iOS & Android).
E-Smoothies (Pty) Ltd ("E-Smoothies", "we", "us") runs a smoothie bar at Randburg Square Food Court, Randburg, South Africa, and the websites and apps that let you order from it, join the loyalty programme, apply to work with us, or deliver for us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
We are a small, local business. We don't sell your information, we don't run advertising, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the mobile app.
1. Information we collect
Account & profile
When you register, we collect your name, email address and phone number. You can update these from your Account page at any time.
Orders & loyalty
- What you order, your chosen branch, and — for delivery — the drop-off address and any delivery notes.
- Your loyalty stamp count and rewards, and (if you join) your membership plan and drink allowance usage.
- Your Smoothie Hopper game best score, if you choose to play while signed in — it's attached to your profile so it carries between devices.
Payments
Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers, Yoco and/or Paystack — your card number never reaches our own servers. We only store the resulting transaction reference and status (paid, failed, refunded) against your order, membership, or in-game purchase.
Location
- Choosing a branch: if you allow it, the app uses your device's approximate location once, to suggest the nearest E-Smoothies branch. This isn't stored — it's used in the moment to pick a suburb match and then discarded.
- Drivers: if you deliver for us, your location at the moment a delivery is marked complete is recorded alongside the proof-of-delivery photo, as evidence the handover happened where it should have.
Photos & documents
- Drivers use the in-app camera to photograph proof of delivery.
- Job applicants can attach a CV or supporting document (from your files or photo library) when applying through Careers.
We only ever ask for camera or photo library access at the moment one of these actions needs it, never in the background.
Communications
We send order confirmations and receipts by email (always), and — only if you opt in at registration — status texts ("your order is being made / out for delivery / ready") by SMS. You can turn SMS off at any time from your Account page.

We don't share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone outside this list.
3. Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and equivalent rights if you're ordering from elsewhere, you can ask us to:
- Send you a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong — or just edit it yourself from the Account page.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Stop sending you marketing or SMS updates.
4. Children
E-Smoothies is a general-audience food ordering service and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
5. Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text. Access to customer and order data is limited to signed-in staff accounts with a role that needs it. Payment card data is handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment providers — it never touches our own servers.
6. Cookies (website only)
The e-smoothies.co.za website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your cart — no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted on the site.
